Frequently Asked Questions
~ How can I become a member of NF&GC? You must attend a general meeting in order to obtain an application. At the meeting, you will be asked to stand, introduce yourself and give a brief bio (where you live, your profession, what your interests include, etc.).
~ Do I have to be a Newtown resident to join NF&GC? No, you don't. Our club has many members that live and work outside of Newtown.
~ Is there an application fee?
Yes. A check for $100 made payable to Newtown Fish and Game Club is due at the time the membership application is submitted. This application fee is non-refundable. However, if you are accepted as a member, the $100 is credited to the initiation fee.
~ How much does it cost to join NF&GC? The fee for the first year is $1,550 which includes initiation, annual dues and applicable taxes. Once accepted as a member, the application fee is applied and the balance due is $1,450.
~ What are the membership dues for NF&GC? After the initiation fee, each member must pay annual dues which are currently $450 per year.
~ When are the dues payable? Every year membership dues are payable by February 1st. If the dues are not received by that time, a letter is mailed indicating they have not been paid and membership is terminated.
~ How can I pay for the membership dues? Dues must be paid for by check or money order (CASH IS NOT ACCEPTED) and can be paid either at the January General Meeting or by mail to: NEWTOWN FISH & GAME CLUB P.O. BOX 522 NEWTOWN, CT 06470-0522
~ Does the back-patch have to be displayed? Yes. All members are required to back-patch their backpatch displaying their current membership credentials. If a Warden or another club member ask for your identification or back-patch, you must present your backpatch upon their request.
