Game

Newtown Fish and Game Club's game stocking program shifts into full gear in the Fall as Connecticut's leaves start to change color.  Properties owned and leased are stocked with pheasants twice weekly during the Fall hunting season.

Properties owned by NF&GC, other than at Taunton Lake, are 90 acres in Falls Village and 155 acres in New Milford.  In addition, the Club currently leases approximately 1,000 acres in Fairfield and Litchfield counties for bird liberation.

All properties are open solely to Club members who enjoy the outdoors, nature and the sport of hunting with or without their bird dogs.

NF&GC also maintains a State sanctioned Dog Training Area at the New Milford property.

FIELD TRIALS IN SOUTHBURY

Field trials were organized by John Cappelli for all to enjoy in early October.  There was a great turnout and after a successful day, lunch was served for everyone who participated.  Raffle prizes were part of the package and helped to raise some additional money for the NF&GC.  Thanks to John for putting this event together.  The weather was fantastic and a hot air balloon passing over the fields ended the day on top!!

DECEMBER HUNT IN SOUTHBURY

After one of the first snows of the season, members headed out for a day of pheasant hunting at Mitchell's Farm.  Enjoy the photos and if you have more to share, please let us know!
